Job Description

The purpose of this position is to assist the Financial Controller across a wide range of corporate finance tasks for the Bright & Duggan Group. We’re looking for a Senior Corporate Finance Officer to join the Bright & Duggan Group and play a key role in driving financial excellence across our diverse portfolio. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll provide end-to-end support on corporate finance activities, from managing accounts and compliance to contributing to strategic projects like mergers and acquisitions.

About the role:

  • Assist accounts payable and receivable management
  • Act as a Finance Business Partner for key stakeholders of the entities
  • Assist in daily banking reconciliation
  • Assist in intercompany accounting journals
  • Assist and lodge quarterly BAS
  • Maintain EFTPOS (deposit) accounts, including coding/allocating deposits and processing key refunds to strata plans
  • Assist in month-end financial reporting functions
  • Assist in internal management reporting
  • Assist in mergers and acquisitions valuation calculations
  • Assist in treasury management
  • Coach finance assistants
  • Process improvement projects within the team

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance related degree
  • CA/CPA qualified or working towards
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Management: Strong understanding of invoice processing, creditor/debtor management, and payment runs. Proficiency in bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and coding deposits.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance: Experience in month-end and year-end reporting, internal management reporting, and variance analysis. Knowledge of BAS preparation and lodgement, GST compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Experience in creating budgets and forecasts, interpreting budget vs. actuals and providing analytics to explain periodical movements. Proficiency in spreadsheets and creating financial models.
  • Treasury & Cash Management: Skills in cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and treasury operations. Familiarity with banking platforms, EFTPOS management, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Intercompany Accounting: Ability to process intercompany journals, reconcile balances, and manage cross-entity transactions.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Experience with financial modelling, due diligence, and integration planning.
  • Business Partnering: Ability to act as a Finance Business Partner, providing insights and influencing decisions. Strong relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Leadership & Coaching: Experience in mentoring junior finance assistants and reviewing their work and fostering team development.
  • Process Improvement: Proven track record in streamlining workflows, automation, and efficiency projects.
  • Background in property or strata finance, corporate accounting.
  • Exposure to multi-entity financial reporting, AASB/IFRS Accounting standards.
